7 Relieving Chair Stretches
- Seated Figure-4 Stretch (Glutes & Piriformis): Cross your right ankle over your left knee. Keeping your spine tall, gently hinge forward from the hips until you feel a deep release in your outer hip and lower back. Hold for 30 seconds per side.
- Seated Cat-Cow: Place your hands on your knees. Inhale as you arch your spine, opening your chest toward the ceiling. Exhale as you round your spine, tucking your chin to your chest. Repeat 8 times.
- Chin Tucks (Tech-Neck Reversal): Look straight ahead and gently pull your chin straight back as if making a double chin. Hold for 3 seconds, release, and repeat 10 times to strengthen deep neck stabilizers.
- Doorway Pec Stretch: Place your forearms on both sides of an open doorway at a 90-degree angle. Step forward gently until you feel your chest and anterior shoulders open up.
- Seated Torso Spinal Twist: Sit tall, cross your right hand to the outside of your left thigh, and gently twist your torso to the left, using your chair armrest for mild support. Hold for 20 seconds each direction.
- Overhead Triceps & Lat Opener: Reach your right elbow toward the ceiling, bend your arm, and gently guide your elbow back with your left hand while breathing deeply.
- Standing Hip Flexor Lunge: Stand beside your desk and take a step back with your right leg. Squeeze your right glute and gently tuck your pelvis forward to stretch the front of your hip.
